Learning, Leading, and Blogging
with Art Davidson
CoREM Workshop for December 5, 2006
Today, to have an effective web site is to have a blog. And CoREM has decided to join the 21st century with its own blog, to be called “Leading Leaders and Leadership.” Art Davidson has been exploring this new medium, and will present what he has found at this interactive workshop. Blogs have been made famous because of their disruptive effects on mainstream journalism, and many people think of blogging only as a variation of journalism. But blogs are not just for journalists. Blogs attract people to a web site, a business, a person, or a cause, because of their ease of use and interactivity. That is, blogs let opinions flow in multiple directions, with ease. CoREM is in position to effectively use a blog because of its monthly meetings. These meetings provide a salient focus for a blog for members to explore after the meetings, or if they missed a meeting, and for people everywhere around the world to participate in what CoREM does. At this workshop, you will learn about some of the different types of blogs, the plusses and minuses of having one, and where blogging is headed. We will ask participants for other ideas for the aim and organization of the new CoREM blog. Some of you may be blogging already, and could help get this new one up. Others of you might learn how a blog could impact your own life, business, or organization.
